What is wrong with people in Network Marketing? Why would anyone in the business want to use a headline like “Why Do Most Network Marketers Fail?”

The people who are going to read or watch this message are failure oriented. Just looking for a pity-party to find and wallow in their misery with the others who just on this band wagon and re-affirm their reasons for failure. This is the most negative message that one can put out about the network marketing industry. Why in the world would I EVER consider joining if MOST fail? What kind of idiotic business plan is that? And people in the network marketing industry who say this should be shot! Why would anyone want to join you in your business if it’s about most people failing?

I don’t care why those people fail. I want to know why the one’s who succeed, succeed!

Network marketing is an amazing business where people can make something out of nothing. It’s about learning the skills and taking action…action being the key word here. ACTION, ACTION, ACTION…WORK, WORK, WORK.

People in network marketing are so busy worrying about signing people up, they forget this is a business. Treat it as a business. Does a highly successful business let just anyone in off the street come in and be a manager, take responsibility for sales and marketing and training their people? NO…they don’t! They look for qualified people or people who have a certain spark that will create VALUE, not be a burden that has to be coddled and stroked along the way to just talk to someone.

So if you see another “Why Do Most Network Marketers Fail?” article, don’t read it! And berate the person who wrote it because they are slamming the very business where you are creating success, success that is possible for those that want to know “Why Do Network Marketers Succeed?”.

Thousands and thousands of people come into the network marketing industry every week and thousands and thousands of them fail every week. Why?

Because they have it in their mind they can’t do it…

They are embarassed…”Is this one of those pyramid things?”

They are don’t handle rejection well.

They don’t believe in the business or themselves.

It’s hard to understand how some people can go join a network marketing business and spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to get started and never share their business with anyone. They hope they can do it, they wish they could do it but, they don’t do it.

How do you turn someone around who does everything except share the business? They show up for meetings, they have the nicest system for tracking leads, they have purchased extra training and read every book about network marketing but they just don’t share the business. And in the end, they will say…”it just didn’t work for me.” How do you keep them from reaching that point?

Some leaders don’t care. It’s all a numbers game to them. Wait..they aren’t leaders are they?

Leaders do care. Leaders will do everything humanly possible to work with these people to help them make a go of it. But in the end…those people believe what they have been telling themselves a and fall out. Chances are excellent that they may join another network marketing company again and chances are greater, they will fail again.

I have a saying I like to use. “You can’t push a chain.”

A chain is very strong and is meant for moving heavy objects. There are chains made to hold thousands of tons if you pull it. If you push it…it goes no where. People are like that. You can’t push them because they will go no where. But if you pull them, you may be able to get them to go somewhere…probably kicking and screaming…but at least you have them headed in the right direction.

Bring your people with you. Don’t push them to where you want them to go. That’s what leaders do.

“You will be the same person tomorrow, next week, next month, next year and in 5, 10, 20 years except for two things – the people you meet and the books you read.” – Charlie “Tremendous” Jones, Motivational Speaker, Writer and Pulisher

This is a great perspective and so true. Much better than the old “If you lay down with dogs, you are gonna get up with fleas.” I am a big believer in reading books…my problem is having three or four going at one time and getting them finish. I’m usually reading one about improving myself, improving my business, another about a topic that interest me and another about the internet. I guess they really are all about improving myself though in one way or another.

The other part of the quote, “the people you meet” is very true. This isn’t about leaving your old friends behind, it’s about meeting people that can add value to your life. They can bring knowledge, motivation, experience and perspective that can be the difference between existing and living. And the great part is that these people are givers and take a sincere interest in you.

Think about this. When you are looking for people to bring into your business, look for people that you can learn from while you are teaching them. As much as we know, there is always more to learn and their perspective can give you a whole new outlook about what you are doing. While you are looking to raise the health and wealth of people you recruit, you should also be looking for people you can develop a symbiotic relationship about giving and getting. Do your recruiting at your personal and professional level and then step outside the box and take a step up. The people who think they are paid enough or have enough money are few and far between. They understand that money can reward you with the freedom to make different choices in your life which should be the goal we are all striving to attain.

There are four stages of growth a network marketing company goes through in its lifetime and what you should look for when doing the due diligence for a network marketing business.

The first stage of growth for a network marketing or direct marketing company is called Formulation. This is the period when the business plan for the company is being put together, the management team is being formed, the founders are pursuing capitalization, and the foundation of the company is being built. Approximately ninety percent of network marketing businesses fail at this stage.

The next stage of growth is Concentration. The company has three to fifty million dollars in annual sales. This stage is the movement through infancy in the network marketing industry. There is rapid growth at this time. The company’s founders have brought in highly experienced network marketers who have built massive sales organizations with other companies and are now doing this for the new company. The branding and buzz is being created and the company is making waves in the industry.

Momentum is the third stage of growth. During this period, the company goes into hyper-growth. Sales increase geometrically with a jump from $50 million to $500 million annually in a period of 3 to 5 years. The company is well established in the multilevel marketing area and is becoming well known outside of the industry. People begin to flock to the company and make money. Independent business owners who are well established in the company, selling the product and building a business and downline at this time can make a fortune in a very short period of time.

“This is the moment when exponential growth kicks in, when fortunes can be made overnight by those lucky few who got into the company before it went into momentum.”
-Richard Poe, Wave 3: The New Era in Network Marketing

The final stage is Stability. The company continues to grow but the momentum has tapered off. The product line is diversified in an effort to created additional momentum.

As you can see in the chart above, Qivana is on the verge of the Momentum stage. This is the time of exponential growth where the independent business owner can make serious money. This is not a promise of wealth. It takes work and effort to make it happen. Serious money requires serious effort. This chart is what made me seriously consider Qivana. Success begins with the convergence of two events…being in the right place at the right time and making a serious decision to commit to the work to take advantage of the opportunity.
